The opening night of Salsa Cruise Asia took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel just one week after the Singapore International Salsa Festival. Similar to the latter, it promised an opening night, and also while onboard the cruise ship that was to set sail the very next day, an international cast of salsa artistes, performances, workshops and dancing galore.

We partied through three nights at the star-filled fourth Singapore International Salsa Festival on 13-15 November. As we continue to recover from our party hangover, we recount the highlights of the biggest yearly salsa event in Singapore.
Let's dance. It is a Sunday but revelers stayed to party on on the last night of the SISF. Photos: Gerald Koo.
We cannot possibly do justice to the SISF with just one review. Why we have not even the mentioned the great New Swing Sextet who rocked our party! Here are more thrills and spills at the event. DJ Joseph - who spun, danced and had fun at the SISF 2009 - gives his take on the NSS and Bollywood dancing, and oh yes, if you see him singing on the SISF main stage one day, do not be surprised.
Dancing starts on Halloween eve. No fancy outfits but at least we wore black. Photos: Gerald Koo
The ghouls came out to play on Halloween, along with Sailormoon, a giant bear and the Spartans. Just some of characters we saw gallivanting the streets on Halloween night. And were we as adventurous during the two nights of merry-making at Union Square? We tell you if each night was as MJ said: thriller, thriller night.
Happy birthday. Union Square celebrates its 9th birthday with cake, food and performances. Photos: Gerald Koo
If you were wondering where the whole boisterous merry-making shebang at Union Square’s 9th anniversary party was, you probably arrived late as the highlights mostly took place before 9pm. Nonetheless the music played, alcohol flowed and revellers danced thereafter, not unlike a celebration at our usual salsa haunt. We happily recount the birthday celebration at dear old Union Square.
