Similar to the latter, it promised an opening night, and also while onboard the cruise ship that was to set sail the very next day, an international cast of salsa artistes, performances, workshops and dancing galore. Happy birthday. Union Square celebrates its 9th birthday with cake, food and performances. Photos: Gerald Koo If you were wondering where the whole boisterous merry-making shebang at Union Square’s 9th anniversary party was, you probably arrived late as the highlights mostly took place before 9pm. Nonetheless the music played, alcohol flowed and revellers danced thereafter, not unlike a celebration at our usual salsa haunt. We happily recount the birthday celebration at dear old Union Square.
