Updates on SISF 2009.
Finally the promotional flyers for Singapore International Salsa Festival 2009 happening 13-15 November at Downtown East are up and we are scrutinizing it!

Here are some of the serious things to note:

1) Early bird catches the worm, or for the SISF, the cheapest priced tickets. Purchase your full festival passes during 1 Aug-15 Oct at S$292; 16 Oct-31 Oct at $350; 1-13 Nov at $432. Notice the price difference between buying early and late can be a whole 140 buckaroos. So get it fast!

2) A full pass will buy you two full days of workshops, three nights of show performances, exclusive invite to an opening night cocktail party, a sit-down buffet dinner and a festival goodie bag.

3) Alternatively get one full day pass at S$202 and that will buy you access to workshops during the day and the night’s party.

4) Night party tickets, which will allow you to dance and watch performances, are at S$32 per night on either 13 or 15 Nov (Fri & Sun), and $52 for 14 Nov (Sat) because you get to party with 51st Grammy Award Nominee, The New Swing Sextet! Ticket includes one drink. Two drinks for closing night.

5) Or get a three night party pass at S$87 because dancing is never enough.

6) Chalet bookings available at S$330 nett, for 4 days and 3 nights stay at Downtown East, including six theme park tickets. First come first serve basis! Contact Rudy at 94246400 or sponsoring studios: ACTFA, Dansflava, En Motion, Jitterbugs Swingapore. Ticket booking details here http://sisf.com.sg/registration/booking.html

And the fun things to note:

1) It’s a Mardi Gras Theme on the opening night on 13 Nov so go in your most colourful outfits!

2) The festival goodie bag contains a polo tee, Union Square discount vouchers and wait…”your special invitation to the Launch Party of the New Union Square happening in February 2010”? An all new Union Square! We wait with bated breathes.

3) There will be another attempt for the Guinness Book of World Records and Singapore Book of Records for The Biggest Rueda Circle on 15 Nov!

4) A recap of the international salsa starts coming your way: France’s U-Tribe, the US’ Masacote, Spain’s Pablo & Diane, Italy’s Alfredo & Carla, New Zealand Salsa Kids, Australia’s Jamie Jesus & Mary-Grace Brown, Japan’s Bobby Dickerson, Venezuela’s Imagen Latina, the UK’s Super Mario and Tony Lara, the US’ Pretty Boys & Girls and of course the US’ DJ Henry Knowles and The New Swing Sextet!

Are we excited yet? For more details see http://www.sisf.com.sg

New studio for Jitterbugs. Jitterbugs Swingapore has closed its Millenia Walk studio and will be opening and starting classes at The Cathay #B1-08 on 11 Aug. Its Turf City branch is operating as usual.

Get Ritzy.
The biggest salsa-themed cruise event, Salsa Cruise Asia, will have its opening night and party at Singapore's Ritz Carlton on 22 November. Sounds like a glitzy grand opening to us! Stay tuned to http://www.salsacruiseasia.com for more updates.
